UC Davis is the first University of California campus to be certified as an affiliate of the Bee Campus USA program.
We are proud to be an active member and supporter of the UC Davis Bee Campus Initiative. UC Davis has joined a national movement to reverse pollinator decline with more than 100 campuses across the country.
“Our campus is a leading institution for research and public education about climate change and sustainability, with a community of passionate, engaged faculty, staff and students. We are pleased to work with the Xerces Society and our fellow institutions to raise awareness and to help create and sustain healthy habitats for pollinators worldwide”
- Chancellor Gary S. May
Research has shown significant declines in native pollinator population sizes and ranges globally. Bee Campus USA is an initiative of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, a non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon. This program is designed to help ensure a better future for our bees. Together, we're working to implement integral programs to raise awareness, expand habitat, and celebrate gains for pollinators.
